THAILAND INTERNATIONAL JAZZ CONFERENCE

Well known for bringing world-class jazz to Salaya, the Thailand International Jazz Conference has become one of the hottest tickets of the year. This year TIJC is proud to pair the Thailand Phil with two outstanding jazz artists. American guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel has built and international legacy as the preeminent jazz-guitar voice of his generation, and Alex Sipiagin is currently one of the top trumpeters in New York’s jazz scene. Spanish jazz saxophonist and flutist Jorge Pardo will also join the night with legendary Flamenco jazz style that has made him famous for decades. Join them and Maestro Desta David. Join them and Maestro Delta David Gier as they bravely lead the Thailand Phil into the world of jazz in this boundary-crossing concert.

The Thailand International Jazz Conference (TIJC) is an annual celebration of Thailand’s love for the exciting musical genre of jazz. Every year the festival brings together an international group of guests, some of the Kingdom’s hottest jazz groups and student ensembles from around the country. The Thailand Phil is proud to participate in this important cultural event.

This year is also an opportunity to hear something truly unique: Jorge Pardo’s pioneering fusion of Spanish flamenco and jazz.  The sax and flute player is a legend in his own time having worked with Paco de Lucia in a decades-long career.

This year TIJC is honored to pair the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra with outstanding American guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel who has built an international legacy as the preeminent jazz-guitar voice of his generation.
