STRAVINSKY REIMAGINED

The ballet music of Stravinsky was considered revolutionary when it was first performed. One-hundred years later it still stands as monumental in the symphonic repertoire. Experience this ground-breaking music as you never have before, with breathtaking motion graphics, projected in sync with the music. Italian bass-clarinet virtuoso Rocco Parisi performs Narong Prangcharoen’s colorful Concerto for Bass Clarinet.

Projected motion graphics are designed by the faculty Communication Design Program in the Fine and Applied Arts Division at Mahidol University International College.

Synopsis:

“Even classics need to be reimagined sometimes!”

The Russian master Igor Stravinsky shocked the musical world one hundred years ago with his brilliant and ground braking ballets Petrushka and Rite of Spring. Both works had Russian themes and energized the largely conservative and gentle nature of ballet with fearsome new rhythms and the choreography of dancer Vaslav Nijinsky.

Experience this groundbreaking music as you never have before, with breathtaking motion graphics, projected in sync with the music. Projected motion graphics will be designed by the faculty Communication Design Program in the Fine and Applied Arts Division at Mahidol University International College.

Italian bass-clarinet virtuoso Rocco Parisi joins TPO and Maestro Jeffrey Meyer for a performance of Narong Prangcharoen’s colorful new Concerto for Bass Clarinet.
