SONGS OF THE KNIGHTS
Best known for his exhilarating tone poems and expansive operas, Richard Strauss was a superstar composer of the lush late-Romantic style. This concert features two of his most mature works. First, renowned horn soloist Radovan Vlatkovic performs the Second Horn Concerto like no-one else can. Then, be swept away by the suite from Strauss’s best-loved opera Der Rosenkavalier which depicts life in the glittering ballrooms of early 20th-century Vienna.
