Someone Heard the Shepherd Singing

Heartbreaking is Beethoven’s recounting of a moment when “someone heard the shepherd singing and again I heard nothing.” Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony wrestles with these emotions as he refused to bend to the fates that would seek to crush him. Join TPO Honorary Founding Chief Conductor Gudni A. Emilsson as the search to understand the 5th is undertaken. Also joining TPO is Thai pianist San Jittakarn in a performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1.
