Visanee Vongvirulh

Visanee Vongvirulh completed her studies in Music Performance in Thailand and Instrumental Pedagogy in Austria.

In 2012, she graduated in Thailand with a Bachelor’s degree, achieving First Class Honors in Music Performance (Violin) at the College of Music, Mahidol University, under Prof. Sittichai Pengcharoen and Prof. Inga Causa.

Between the years 2012-2013, she was awarded a 9 Month Classical Music Training Scholarship from ASEA Uninet to study at the University of Mozarteum, Salzburg, Austria. From 2014 to 2021, Visanee received a scholarship from the Royal Thai Government for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. She graduated in her 2nd Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Pedagogy (Violin) under Prof. Anita Mitterer and Master’s degree under Prof. Klara Flieder-Pantillon at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

While living in Austria, she performed as a violinist and orchestral musician in various symphony orchestras and opera productions such as the Austrian Festival Symphony Orchestra (Austria), Sinfonietta da Camerata Salzburg (Austria), Immling Festival Orchestra (Germany), Philharmonie Salzburg (Austria), Kinderfestspiel (an opera production for kids and concerts for the education of future audiences), Skive Opera Festival Orchestra (Denmark), Opernfestspiele Schloss Amerang (Germany), Oper im Berg Festival Orchestra (Austria) and Neue Philharmonie München (Germany).

Visanee attended violin masterclasses and has taken lessons with Pierre Amoyal, Igor Ozim, Rudolf Koelman, Ulf Hoelscher, Mayumi Seiler, Eduard Schmieder, Simone Zgraggen, Andrey Baranov and Michael Ma. She also participated in pedagogical masterclasses with Veronika Kröner, Mimi Zweig, Kerstin Wartberg, Andrea Holzer-Rhomberg and Lan Ku Chen.

In Thailand, Visanee was a member of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra since its founding in 2005 and recognized as the youngest TPO member at the age of 15. She won 1st Prize at the 4th Beethoven Competition in Thailand for Young String Players (2010) which led her to concert debut at the Beethovenfest in Bonn, Germany. She also won 1st Prize at the International Youth Chamber Music Competition (IYCC), Interlaken, Switzerland 2005 as a member of Dr. Sax Chamber Orchestra.

Recently, Visanee has undertaken the role of Violin Instructor at the College of Music, Mahidol University and gives private violin lessons at her own “Visanee Violin Studio” for the general public.
